Art & Epilepsy

The “Art & Epilepsy” DVD was produced and directed by Dr. Fabienne Picard, neurologist at the University Hospitals of Geneva. It takes a long look at epilepsy from a unique, not merely medical, point of view.

It delves into the arts. Writings by well-known authors and artists who suffered from epilepsy are presented in unison or intermingled with musical compositions interpreted by master pianist François-René Duchâble.

A conference explaining basic facts about epilepsy precedes the performance. There is also an investigative report into the history of the disease and interviews with experts that help us understand the role it might play in the creative process.

Understanding epilepsy may free us of the fears and embarrassment often associated with it, consequently enabling patients to speak more freely, more openly about it.

Epilepsy... You are not alone
